Ernie Ball Music Man by a mile. They're very distinctive tonally, and only slightly less so in terms of appearance and feel, so it's not really surprising that most of us who love them for their purposes really couldn't imagine trying to use something else. I know it's blasphemy, but I really haven't cared for any of the pre-EB Music Man instruments I've played. They're just Fenders with better(?) electronics.
Up to about two years ago it was Fender. Then I bought my first Ibanez, and now I'm saved!
I’ll throw in another vote for G&L. Whether you’re buying an American made one or Tribute (Indonesian), I think they are the most bang for your buck.
It was Fender from 2014 when I purchased my MIM Jazz... Now it'll be either a Sterling Ray35ca or
a Schecter CV-5. I haven't decided yet.
