Commom to basses would be the Rickenbacker headstock. Favorite of all is the Explorer headstock, followed by the V headstock.

Fender headstocks are classic. I also like Gibson SGs.

I can't stand pointy, hockey stick headstocks.

Looks-wise, I like 2x2 headstocks. Tuning-wise, I like 4 in a row.

Sg is ok. I like fender headstocks! Especially vintage ones!

Fender often bores me in general (Strats, Ps), but when they do something right I love it (Jaguar, Mustang). I like their standard oversized headstock, but their headstock I like the most is this:

As for BASS headstocks - most bore me (at best), but Thunderbird and Flying V both work really well IMO...and I think I like Epi's V better than Gibson's V. Fender headstocks with the LARGE text that follows the curve look much nicer than the small text versions. And this Guild headstock is nice and classic:

But headstocks have to work with the body - an ill-matched headstock will ruin the aesthetics of an instrument, even if the headstock alone looks great.
