Whats Your Favorite Instrumental Track?

Cloudkicker

I love Cloudkicker. And the best part is all his music is free. You can get it at cloudkicker.bandcamp.com

He even came out saying that he doesn't do it for the money. He has a job that pays the bills but people still donate money when they don't have to when buying his albums.

I can't help thinking of lying on the beach in the late '60s when I hear Soulful Strut by Young-Holt Unlimited:

My band is covering the vocal version (Am I the Same Girl), but I have a special place in my heart for the instrumental. Check out Eldee Young's sweet line on it! Reminds me of JJ.

Sorry about the self-reply, but I just did a little Wikipedia consult (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Am_I_the_Same_Girl), and was shocked to see this:

Neither Eldee Young nor Red Holt is believed to have played on the track, which was the work of session musicians identified only as the Brunswick Studio Band.[2]

Maybe it *was* JJ doing some moonlighting! Anybody know anything more about who played bass on this classic?

Unless you limit it to rock it's impossible to say which is my favorite. Almost every jazz piece I like is an instumental, so whatever I've been into lately is probably it, usually Miles or Coltrane or both (All Blues album). For rock I'd have to go with something by Rush, probably La Villa Strangiato or Leave That Thing Alone. There may be "better" out there but this isn't about what's "best", it's about what your current favorite is.
