What's your oldest instrument?

inspired by the "what's your oldest accessory?" thread, I decided to branch out to what is the oldest instrument you own and what do you think it would be worth on sale. to start off, I still have my grandpas original 1956 ludwig drumset now, worth probably near $8000.

Edit: 1957 says the stamp inside the shell

Maton Master Sound MS1100 semi-acoustic bass. Tobacco sunburst, 32" scale, made in Australia.

1965, serial #118, which means it's the 18th made (serial numbers start at 101) and it's one of only 208 ever made; production ceased in 1966. Maton Guitars - Superb acoustic, electric and custom built guitars - Australia's own guitar maker

It plays quite nicely and sounds good with the chromes I've got on it; it sounded awful with roundwounds, thin and nasty. One of these days I'm going to get around to having it properly restored (not the finish, just a full set-up and fret polish and fix the pots and switches which are a bit scratchy). The finish is in excellent condition for its age, nicely crackled and all there; there are some belt buckle marks on the back but nothing major.

What is it worth? Damned if I know - somewhere between A$2000 to $2500 is my guess. It's not fully original, as it's missing the bridge cover, and it has had a major repair to the bridge area. The bridge had punched right through the top and there is now a block under the bridge. Apparently this problem is common in this model, as the top was inadequately braced (this was Maton's first attempt at a semi-acoustic bass).

I was given this bass in 1975, and it was unplayable because of the bridge problem. I've seen one that went for around A$1500, but it was in appalling condition, and missing the pickguard. Link Removed

Oldest instrument in the house is a Buescher Aristocrat Alto Sax from the late 40's, my wife's horn.

1960-1 Harmony H22 Bass is the oldest bass, my only shorty and hollowbody, something very cool about that D'Armond pickup.

'82 Carvin LB50 Koa is the instrument I have owned the longest.
