What's your preferred jack location?

Side jack so that your pickguard doesn’t get cracked.

I prefer it on the front, but I don't care much. Regardless, like most of you probably, I thread the cable through my strap to keep it out of the way and reduce "pull-outs" (no comments please ).

If needed, I have moved it from front to side.

I’m going to go with carrots on this one. But I will say that my jack position choices are usually dictated by the careful balance of available space vs. ease of execution.

I think the strat jack is far and away the best plug. The only commercial bass I'm aware of that uses it is the Yamaha Attitude though, which is both relatively expensive and relatively rare, so maybe most bass players haven't had a chance to try a bass with the strat style jack.

Excellent post. I do wonder why more basses don't use that Jack. I think it would be great, especially in Black.

Mine all end up in the edge/side, it just seems cleaner somehow.

I love TUNE basses but hate the location of the output jack. You need a different kind of stand or a hanger .
You cannot use L shape jacks as well.

The football jack, right in the end zone below the strap button on the lower bout where it rounds and makes the turn. Yup, right there!
