Whee!!! F Bass Ordered

Totally second the recommendation on Adrian. He's so awesome with communication, he knows his products, and he's a genuinely nice guy. I don't remember seeing that metallic blue one at NAMM, but I think I was just too knocked out by that buckeye one!

Order through Adrian Garcia. He's a great guy, and Wasabi seems to have done well through him :D.

Wasabi: FBasses are fantastic. Great call. I saw one in action during the summer, and...well, let's just say it's been on the backburner of my mind as a "to get before I die" thing.

Cool. Thanks, guys. I'll give Adrian a ring.

Yeah, I walked by the booth maybe 3 or 4 times since it was right on a corner, and saw the metallic blue one only on the last time. So I don't know if he had it in a case, or what. Maybe it just materialized out of Bass Heaven just for me! :D

It's gonna be interesting! I really wonder what exact tints he'll use...I'm envisioning a dark purple instead of a bright one, but I'm going to kind of leave it to him.

Dang...please keep up the good vibes. You all made me feel much better about my whacked ideas.

Congrats! Welcome to the club - and it's smart to leave the exact choice of hues to George. He has a great eye and I'm sure it will turn out to be an eye-pleaser.

Although with your username I'm surprised you didn't go for a green to purple burst... :D

Actually, I did look at that option...What I did was just create a bunch of rectangles with various bursts in an image editor to look at colors. The green to purple was interesting, but Adrian nailed it when he said that it looked kind of "cartoonish in a superhero way".

Agreed about letting George just do his magic. He's the master.

I finally pulled the trigger on a BN5. Ever since playing a BN6 back in November, I've just been wanting one more and more...
Idiot. See, it's your own dang fault for being stupid and touching one. I'm much smarter than that. I know not to get lost forever in the "F hole". :D

That said, I also know my destiny involves an F someday, so really I'm just in denial, but as long as I don't touch one, I'm safe for now. ;)

P.S. Congrats!!!!!! ...oh, and I hate you jealously... :)

REMEMBER TO POST PICS!!!!!

Also, yeah, doing business with Adrian, there's none better. He'll be my F dealer someday. :)

I dig the color choice! And hey, purple and orange are the hottest colors in the NBA this year...

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

I have a Sadowsky PJ-5 with a gorgeous quilted top that I ended up having done natural in the center and purple on the outside. Never seen anything like it, but purple is just so cool with warm colors.

I'm about to take the F-Bass plunge myself! Going for a light blue metallic finish that I fell in love with at the show. Just gotta find the right dealer now.

the hottest are in Texas...... ;)

Pix of the painted body! Bass is still 3 to 4 weeks out. Now I'm getting psyched. This is not exactly what I expected it to look like, but I really do love it. It looks kind of like I imagined it, and it's subtle and classy to me. George said it's hard to capture the finish in the pix, and it looks really good in person, so I know as understated as he is, it probably kicks some serious butt in the looks department!

Thats beautiful however I also expected it to be different, more "cartooney" and to have larger burst edges... Oh well when I recieved my Carvin it looked totally different than I had imagined. It sure is a beautiful piece and should look swank with Mac Ebony. You must be so stoked.

Does this mean you're not going to sell that nasty Old Buckeye F bass to me? :crying:

Seriously, ... Congrats Mike! I'm glad to read that you discovered the magic of F Bass. (comes as no surprise) I am overwhelmed and often amazed when I play mine at how great this bass performs.

Well, not selling for now anyway!!!!!!!!!

Heres the crazy thing too, we do "Spider", "Club UZEB" and are working on "New Hit" all by UZEB w/Alain Caron. So I'm in full F Bass mode last night!!! (dicslaimer: I can NO WAY play like AC-We're just playing the tunes. I DO NOT profess to be anywhere near that level.)
I discover the magic a few years back, but I was already knee deep in my Sadowsky's.
But I pulled the trigger on my BNF5 last year. And now with the BN5............ :D

You know, I have had my F bass BN5 for about 6 months now and have never been more satisfied with a bass in my life. After playing this bass recorded and live, I am amazed at how many different tones I can get out of her. Smooth, jazz bass, p bass, metal highs, jaco bridge tone, piano like tapping, dry purcussive slap, etc etc. The look the feel the sound is George's motto.

That preamp can change the tone in an instant and never sounds coloured to me. I also would say that even in passive mode these basses sound great! The array of tones is simply amazing. Nothing feels like an F either.

On the subject of basketball, my Pistons will reign supreme once again and I'd say Sacramento or Dallas in the west....

congrats on the new bass
