So I've been doing all of my drummerless gigs without an amp. I've done a few larger group (with a drummer) in smaller venues without an amp also.
Here's my problem though. I'm a chicken. I always throw my little GK in the car in case things get dicey. I'm kind of a boy scout and I want to be prepared for anything.
Now I recall when I made the switch from porkchop to DB I just went cold turkey and stopped bringing the porkchop to gigs (I was playing the weekly 4 hour jam session when I first started DB).
It's not a big deal to have the amp in the car but I want to have the balls to leave it at home.
So the question. Do I just need to go cold turkey? Especially for drummerless jobs? How do you guys decide?
