Where are drafts created while typing a post saved?

Pretty self explanatory. A popup shows periodically in the lower right of the post window while typing saying "draft saved" - well , I just had a power outage and a post reverted to about 5% of what I'd typed - but I can't find the draft anywhere.

Really? So there really aren't "drafts"? I wonder why the popups exist at all.

Drafts are saved on the server, and are accessed by opening the same thread you were posting to - your draft will appear in the post reply box. There is no other central location for saved drafts.

I’m not sure what rufusk’s last reply meant.

As far as drafts being available in the post reply box, I’ve looked at every option and haven’t found a way to access them. What’s the specefic procedure?

If a draft is available, it will just be there. As I'm typing this, I'll save a draft (or wait for autosave), and then leave the thread. If I click back into this thread, I see my draft in the post reply box as seen in this screenshot:

What Paul said has always worked for me, in both IE and Chrome. It's odd that it isn't working for you.

Actually I've seen that (the "ghost" draft), but it isn't noted as a "draft".

And the reason I asked about them in the first place was because of a momentary power outage I had . It didn't even log me off my MacBook Pro, out of Safari or even Talkbass - but what I had typed disappeared except for the first line. Everything else saved as a "draft" was gone.

So apparently the "drafts" are just temp files of some sort that can't be recovered if you leave the site. I did n't actually leave, but it must have been close enough to nuke the drafts.

Is there a way to turn off or disable the draft auto-save feature? I can’t find it in my Preferences.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT I BUMPED, BUT NOW OVER AN HOUR OF TYPING IS GONE!

THERE WERE NO DRAFTS TO RECOVER!
