Where can I get an easy to use HPF...

Note that the OP just posted that he thinks his amp has an HPF in it already. He's trying to figure out if it can be "engaged"... So this doesn't actually seem like a case where an external HPF is required...

By your definition, all the people who recommended $200+ HPFs were also trolling, because that's not really "cheap."

@jlepre It's already on all the time. You don't have to do anything to turn it on.
It's there to protect the power section, your speakers, and also acts as part of the sound-character of the amp.

The title of this thread is "Where can I get an easy to use HPF". The title of the thread is not "Do I need HPF".

Suggesting (repeatedly) that the OP doesn't need HPF is trolling.
 
My HPF is 24dB / octave below the knee. Everything I want, nothing I don't.

As far as I know all the amps I ever had have had some kind of fixed HPF down in the rumble range below 30Hz. I never had a SWR but hoo boy did my HPF clean up the backline combo I got a couple of years ago.

I use a Broughton HPF pedal. It was about $100 US and it's on my board, always on, and I generally set it for the particular rig/room I'm playing in, and then forget it. You could also just set it at 40hz and forget it. That's my default but I like to bring it up higher if the amp / room is particularly boomy.

So, for about $85 plus $18.50=$103.50 USD you can have the easiest-to-use adjustable HPF on the market.

If you think of your speaker frequency range like the area between the lines of a baseball field (with the lows to the left and the highs to the right) then a High Pass Filter(HPF) removes the lows being received from your amp that are in foul territory to the left. The ones that your speakers can't reproduce or can't reproduce well.

Same for the highs, a Low Pass Filter (LPF), removes the highs in foul territory to the right.

So, you think, I can do the same thing by turning down the bass amp tones controls. Not really. Turning down the amp tone controls also turns down frequencies you want to have.

An HPF/LPF allows you to access frequencies on your amp controls that are the between the lines of the baseball field w/o emphasizing the unwanted ones in foul territory.

It's like you're designing a custom speaker and cab that work perfectly together. And, with an adjustable HPF, you can custom design your rig for each gig.

@agedhorse I currently use my Genzler MG800. I was told that it already has a built in HPF. Can you elaborate how this work, and if there is anything that I should be doing to engage it? Should I also ask @Jeff Genzler?
@jlepre, Yes as mentioned, the Magellan has a fixed HPF set just under 30 Hz. It is a steep slope 24 dB / octave and does clean up the subsonic clutter. It is always engaged so there is nothing to turn on. If you use your Contour B that does simulate a higher HP setting as well as boosting approx 80 Hz. Maybe something you can experiment with.
