Where does it stop?

I plan on eventually upgrading from a Squier Standard Jazz Bass to either a Squier Vintage Modified Mustang Bass or a Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass SS (why bother upgrading to an actual Fender when Squier has proven that their basses are just as good), but I still catch myself browsing for other basses (particularly short scale basses apart from the aforementioned ones). I just think it's fun to do.

As long as you don't let it completely occupy your mind, interfere with your responsibilities in life or keep you from enjoying your current bass, then it's perfectly okay to look at other basses.

Finally got my dream bass, why do I still find myself "window shopping"? Still browsing online, visiting stores. Life's guilty pleasure I suppose. Am I crazy or plain greedy?

Nope, you're neither. GAS affects us all. Some more than others! Until recently, I was lusting after all sorts of basses, amps, strings, effects.....hell, you name it.

Quite honestly, I haven't had an attack in a while, but I in no way think I am cured.........:D

There IS NO CURE......:smug:

I'm so inspired at the moment with my new, used Alembic.

I will need to buy an amp sooner or later. I want something nice, but not too nice. Not so expensive that I'm afraid to leave it while I'm packing away my bass. A nice Peavey Combo 300 would be cool. I had a nice Fender BXR 300, but lost it. Wouda done fine.

Uhhh, yea...keep telling yourself that Squier is as good as an American Standard Fender...it's not really true. It's ok if it makes you happy, but to throw in a statement like that is a bit incredible. But, I understand the rest of your post.

LOL! It's GAS, and welcome to the GAS station known as Talkbass!

I've been playing bass for 40 years now, and I find that part of the enjoyment of playing bass is getting new gear to play with. IMO, it's normal, and it's healthy. It's all part of having fun in life! And for me, that's what life is all about.
