Where to get a Chickenbacker Bass

For anyone quoting the Bill of Rights as a reason to allow this, as has been stated numerous times before, it is to stop the government from making laws abridging speech. Private citizens can make whatever agreements they want (that's why this, and all, internet forums have rules). The government can't stop us from debating this, but that doesn't mean we should.

Anyone here who is a writer, songwriter, software person, etc., I guess people can steal your ideas, and some members here think it is OK. Selective ethics is always in vogue, I guess.

I've been looking into the fake Chinese Rickenbackers, and I was wondering if anyone knows where I could buy one. I understand the risks of the buy, and all the things that could go wrong. If anyone knows where I could get my hands on one, that would be incredible.

Why are you looking for a chickenbacker? I dont mind if you buy one or not, it's your choice. I just wanted to say there might be better options.
For example if you just like the rickenbacker looks you might wanna check out harley benton they have a rick based bass (not a copy, just rick Inspired). If you're going for the rick sound a chickenbacker wont do it. You might be better off with a used line 6 variax bass. I'm no expert but these were simply things that came to mind whilw reading this thread.

I didn't make the rule; I personally wouldn't buy one and don't like the idea of them being sold. People get po'd when threads get closed; I reopen it and do the same.

"ricenbacker". I mean, that's almost good enough to be the brand name and nobody's thought of it?

This right of protest you are exercising may just very well be the same reason the OP has for buying a knock off Rick.

Or maybe they just want a cheap Rick shell in order to mod, and not ruin the expensive genuine article. Things that the whiners don't consider when feeling the constrictive strain of their panties coiling tightly around their nether regions.

Likely because:

1. Some people might object as being culturally unsensitive (not me, but probably there are those who would).
2. Ric likely would take action - especially if the logo was in a similar font, they would claim risk of confusion, which is a standard for these actions.
3. Who cares what the name is? If they were misusing protected properties, such as shape, it would be illegal.

Fact is, the manufacturers who make illegal copies often use the protected name, as well as the shape.

Sorry, but it does ruffle my feathers that so many people have no problem with these unethical scumbags stealing from Rickenbacker. They are stealing Rickenbacker's protected designs. If you can't afford a real Rickenbacker but want one anyway TFB. Get off your lazy ass, earn the money and buy the real thing. When you buy a fake, you are supporting criminals, whether you will admit it or not.

All these people that don't care would be squealing like stuck pigs if THEY were the ones losing money.

Selective ethics indeed. It is a crime to rip off Rickenbacker because they are litigious but you can rip off Fender because it was done so prolifically that their gear became a standard.
