Which bass are you getting next?

This is a very un-TB thing to say, but I think there's a good chance that I won't ever buy another bass. The last bass I bought, six years ago, was a Fender 60th Anniversary Precision, and since then I have played it exclusively and been completely satisfied. I don't mean to imply that that there are no better basses out there -- only that I can't think of anything I would want in a bass that this one doesn't give me. And if I ever decide that I do want a change of pace, I've got a half-dozen good basses collecting dust in the basement -- which I sometimes regret not ever playing -- that I would pull out before I'd even think about going shopping for something new.

Something like this only lefty and single pup

I kind of feel the same way about my 2011 Ric 4003. Sure it has its minor finish flaws, but whenever I see a cool bass I think, "Cool, but would it replace my Ric as my main gigging bass? Nope, probably not."

I have two other basses, a VM Jaguar and my Westone Spectrum. Between the three of them, I have all the tones I need and would never find the time to play a fourth bass. One of them would wind up being a case queen.

My next bass will most likely be another Jazz bass. I'm considering an AVRI, in a solid color (I don't need another sunburst bass), but in the end I might go with a different Jazz, as long as it has a rosewood board and 60's spaced pickups. At this point it's all at least a year away, and I'm set with the basses I have.

It's smaller, cheaper, lighter, and probably doesnt sound as good. I also could leave it in my car without giving a crap :)

Every one needs a good, cheap "trunk bass". They also make for a good, cost effective, back up to your favorite. My $100 mid 90's Squier Protone Precision 5 is one of my best finds ever. It's seen more stage time than I'd ever imagined. Perfect when asked to sit in w/bands I know. When I go out on the town, It's usually in the trunk, no matter the weather.

I think my next will be a Warwick Corvette fretless 4. I've had a couple in the past and although they've never made it to main bass status and I've sold them on, I kinda regret not having one around.

Technically not a bass- A Squier Vintage Modified Baritone Jazzmaster.

It's 30" scale, so I can get some Bass VI action on the go and sidestep the dodgy bridge. Can't decide whether or not I'd rather go for the older Antigua Burst ones or not...

Apart from that, I've been thinking a regular shortscale, or maybe some form of Precision (although with a Jazz neck). Man, I'm going to be poor.
I did that with an Antigua one once. I had to drill out the hole in the bridge for the e string to get it to fit, but the Ernie ball strings that are like $6 a set fit fine once I did that.
