Which Discontinued Gear Do You Think Needs to Come Back?

1. Sunn Amps in general for both guitar and bass.
-2000S model amp and cab, updated with all the back panel trimmings of modern amps and maybe a blendable overdrive channel, and neo speakers (such as the Faital 15PR400 for the cab).
-Maybe a Coliseum or Concert Bass type SS preamp with a Class D power section.
-Also a 200S/2000S type preamp with a Class D power amp.

2. Guild B-300 and B-400 series basses.

3. Gibson basses.
-Thunderbird II and IV with the old school style pickups with chrome covers.
-EB-3L with real mudbucker pickup and slotted headstock.
-RD series bass.
-Triumph bass.
-Victory bass.
-Explorer bass.
-EB-2 (the hollowbody one)
-EB-1
-Also all basses should be offered in all finishes.

4. A few Rickenbacker basses.
-4003S-8 8-string bass.
-4080 but with the option to make the bass neck 8-string as well
-A modernized 4002 with selectable active/passive electronics and 24 frets (would actually work on a 4002 due to having very different pickup positions from the 4003).
-Model 2000 series basses.
-Model 4005 (I know, total pipe dream).
-Produce a model based on their 1930s EUB prototype.

5. Ampeg B-25 but modernized. I know, the PF-50T is nearly the same thing, but it would still be cool.
Also a 2x15 from Ampeg would be great.

6. The Sound City amps with the active EQ sections.

7. Fender stuff.
-Big Block P-bass with the big fat humbucker.
-The Katana bass. I know, silly, but cool.

8. MusicMan should issue a model like the Stingray prototype - with the Reverse P-bass style pickup where the big humbucker normally is.

9. JBL should make instrument drivers again. Something similar sounding to the K-140 but with modern power handling an excursion.

10. EV should do the same with the 15B.

Not exactly bass-related, but Gallien Krueger's guitar amps from the 80's. Just listen to that epic chorus effect, Maiden used that instead of any outboard effects and really made it an integral part of their sound on this album, which gave it a super-cool futuristic vibe. One of the times where the gear really helped make the album what it was, it just wouldn't have been the same with your standard Marshall.

The best gear related come-back I've seen recently is Boss's new CE-2w. I have a 1980 CE-2 as it is (inherited from my Dad) and have not found a comparable one, so it's good that there is now a replaceable version I won't be afraid to take from the house.
