Which is the overall better company?

I am in need of a new amp and I was just curious as to what your opinions were as to which one of these companies makes the overall best products. I am mainly concerned with sound quality but also build quality and support.

Ashdown
Eden
SWR
Gallien-Kreuger
Orange
Acoustic

Oh I forgot to mention I am in need of a Combo amp.

*****I will be buying a new combo, not a used one. I am interested in a full warranty and support. I have had too many problems with used gear*****

GK seems to make pretty good quality stuff throughout their line, but I couldn't get used to their characteristic growl, the MB series combo has quite a following on here. Eden seems to vary more throughout the range, the Metro combo is pretty good. I really liked my SWR SM series, it's more on the clean side, but the (Super or non-Super) Redhead seems to have spiced things up more from what I've read.

What genre do you play? What bass? How are your volume needs? Where are you located?

I mostly play rock but I have also been known to funk it up a little bit. Occasionally R & B.

I have a Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray, Fender Deluxe Jazz, and a Lakland 44-94.

I already have a full setup but I am in need of a smaller home amp. Probably something between 50w and 150w.

I have checked around and both guitar center and musicians friend have plenty of new combos from each of these brands under $350. I do not need a large combo, just one for the house. Most of the ones I'm looking at are between 50w and 100w and range from $200 to $350. I am just having trouble narrowing down my options.

not the response i was hoping for usually when anyone mentions behringer in the same thread as GK, SWR, Eden etc there's a huge flame war which is always entertaining

i must say they've always failed on me too

Buy locally and buy used. Since this is for home use and you're on a limited budget, you can probably find something fairly nice for $200-300 provided you're not too picky.

The above statement completely ignores the OP's primary concerns: quality, reliability, and service. New gear will carry a guarantee; used hardware will not. I apologize for the oversight.
