which octaver (with envelope filter)

to expand on my other thread which envelope filter now the choice of octaver.

MXR BOD
Aguilar Octamizer
EBS OctaBass

also, how do you feel about mix'n match vs. all from one manufacturer ?
Like MXRM82 + BOD, EBS BAssIQ + OctaBass, Aguilar Dual Envelope + Octamizer ?

As much as I use an octave I could not justify spending $150-200 so I just got a used OC-2 and it works great for my needs and sound very classic. only cost $55! I blend a good amount of clean in so the weak tracking below A doesn't bother me. I heard the mxr has the best tracking.

The Octamizer tracks low and fast, but the MXR holds on to decaying notes better. Never used the EBS. FWIW, the Foxrox Octron is my octaver of choice. As for mixing and matching, use what works, not what has the most aesthetic appeal for posting pictures.
