Which pickguard for my hand stained Franken P?

Hi bass mates!

Recently I did a hand staining job on my Precision Bass. Although it was not the color I expected, I really liked the result.

With all that beautiful grain,any kind of busyness in the PG would just be too much going on visually.

A simple 1-ply black or aged-cream....Also the gold anodized.

But really thinking the 1-ply black.

I think any of the following would look great, but here they are in order of my personal preferences:

Brown Tort
White Pearl
White
Aged White, Parchment, Cream, etc.
Parchment
Black

Stay away from dark/rich colors - the stain is rich enough.

Or if the body were glossed, matte black 3-ply would look sweet.

For my Frankencision, I put together a crimson sandblasted Fender P body, a Warmoth wenge-on-wenge fretless neck, and an EMG Geezer pickup/harness. I had a hard time with pickguard color too. I tried black, tort, mint, white, anodized gold, white pearl (too gaudy looking for me) then eventually I found it: aged parchment.

How about a clear pickgaurd. I have one on my stingray and I think it looks pretty good. It would help to show off the wood grain of your bass.

What is the neck fretboard? Maple, Rosewood? If maple Go with black/wht/blk and black hardware...it would look sweet.....just my 1-1/2 cents

I tried a black guard, looks good but I think it would look better if I had gold hardware.

Black looks good IMO - gold hardware - nope. Chrome hardware IMO.
