Which pickguard for my hand stained Franken P?

Any tort is better than no tort. Why doesn't everybody get this?

However, I think brown tort is better than red tort on that bass.

What kind of wood, Swamp Ash?
I think is ash, looks like ash, feels like ash... but not sure if is "swamp ash".

What kind of stain?
Thinner based stain.

Clear top coat or not?
Satin finish.

Can you feel the grain or is it sanded smooth?
Open grain for sure!

99.9% of the time, I HATE plain white pickguards. But, I think white works here.

Recently I did a hand staining job on my Precision Bass. Although it was not the color I expected, I really liked the result.

I'd stick with white. Maybe white pearloid. Or maybe gold anodized metal...

Better yet, take the Ash pick guard from my last post / picture, use the same red stain but sand it afterwards so you only have the Red in the open grain. This would look killer.

Typically my leanings are towards Tort. Similar thinking to Tort now, Tort later, Tort everyday-all day. This machine calls for a re-alignment of the planets and a White Pearl, or maybe the Cream.

I was thinking Pearl too, but that cream looks so so good on this color. Maybe cream pickup covers too.

That wood pickguard looks great, but I don't think a chinese made pickguard would fit a 70's P body.
