Which pickup do YOU play on?

I really don`t have a select spot. I adjust according to what kind of tone I want to get.

Depends on the bass, but I usually just use the "P" pickup, whenever that's available.

Depends on what the song/band require. My personal tone preferance is to favour the neck pickup slightly.

All of 'em, and even all of them at the same times on many occasions. They're tools to express the voice, so I'm constantly switching depending on the song, the mood, the room, the bass, etc.

Slight mix toward the bridge (MM) pickup of my Lakland 55-94. Bridge PUP cut back about 1/4 on my Lakland JO. Hofner, usually neck pickup only.

I don't like the string tension around the bridge pickup of most basses, so I generally play around the neck pickup (or somewhere between the end of the fingerboard and just before the bridge pickup on a J-style configuration).

Based on the question and some responses, I will answer this two ways.
I usually play both pickups, though occasionally, i turn the bridge pu off.
Neck PU is where i "play"

On my Jazz, usually both centered, but a lot of the time I have the neck pickup rolled off a bit

On my Birdsong, I generally dig the sound of the bridge turned up a little more than the neck... I leave the bridge up and adjust the neck from song to song. Like when we play U2's "40", which has a nice solo-ish bass line, I turn the neck almost all the way down and go almost all bridge, but I think I generally do somewhere in the vicinity of 60% bridge, 40% neck or so...

So ... do you use the E and A string pickup the most, or the D and G string pickup...

On my 2-pickup basses, I usually prefer a blend control that lets me get a lend that's slightly offcentre, to either side depending on the song and how I want the bass to feature in the mix.
