Who do you use to insure your instruments

Hey guys forgive me if there is a thread on this already I did a brief search and could not find anything. Who do you all use to insure your instruments I've been checking with my insurance company Who I have automobile and homeowners insurance with and a few others and they say that they can not cover my guitars because I use it for business I even looked into some type of business insurance for then but they will not cover my guitars I really want to get insurance for when I travel and with my basses can anybody recommend anything

It obviously depends on where you are and who you're insured with. All our instruments and PA are insured on our Home Contents insurance for when they are out of the home. We're insured for $15,000 of gear and it costs us an extra $150 per year.

For almost all homeowners and renters insurance in the US, musical instruments will not be covered if they are ever used out of the house - even if you have a rider. Many players mistakenly believe their gear is covered when in fact it isn't. May be different in Oz.

Nationwide, renter's insurance. Agent is pretty cool, a player himself, and he's allowed me to insure for claimed value instead of actual.

Not that I've claimed a partsbass jazz is insured at something ridiculous like over a grand or something, but lets just say if any of what I owned walked off I could very easily be satisfied with the pay out.

Yes, an inland marine policy is what you need. The same as a landscaper for mowers, contractor's equipment etc... A Homeowners policy will not cover instruments used professionally just like it wouldn't cover a landscapers mowers but would cover his personal mower used at his house.

Mine are insured anywhere outside or inside my house as long as I'm with them. Under my house contents insurance with my bank.

It doesn't add up to a lot with a €250 excess but at least they're covered when I'm walking to and from rehearsal.
