Who has the most Hellishly Obnoxious rig?

One day I was in my storage building and got to thinking that my Semour Duncan Bass 400 was capable of going down to 2 ohms,
so I proceeded to connect my unpowered 361 and my PV 215.
2 ohms, 600 watts, loud.
I sounds better with either cab, but not both.
Did I mention LOUD!

yes the wall of sound. more obnoxious for the setup and takedown i guess ‘cause according to the band, that was the best sound they ever had (early 70’s!). also understand phil’s stack is the height of a standing low e wave. 37’ thereabouts. lot’s of thought went into that design.

I initially thought I really missed the bus not knowing a band that's been touring for this long with that many labels. Then I researched and saw their labels include "Relapse Records" and "Alternative Tentacles" and they have one of those metal genre names that pretty much include only one band. Now I get it why I haven't heard of them in 20+ years.

I would pay ten times that to NOT go to that show.
Yes, I couldn't imagine having to write a review on going to a concert of theirs...

they played a show in my hometown at a hole in the wall that had max occupancy of like 120... they did in fact, use the entire rig. it covered the entire wall behind the stage area ( no riser, just open floor )… My god, it was super loud... like make your stomach turn- loudI can't imagine most of that rig being in during a show. What would even be the point? I'll bet you five bucks more than half of that rig is for looks only.....maybe even all of it. Most pro bands are all in-ears anyway. There's most likely a sweet preamp going into the board while the audience is going crazy over the "killer bass rig".
I don't have a picture (it was 40 years ago). I built a rig with 4x JBL 4530 bottoms, 2x JBL 4560 mids, and 4 JBL bullet tweeters. It was powered by an Alembic pre-amp, a Yamaha crossover, and 4x Yamaha power amps.
It was hard to hear on stage, but quite remarkable at 60-100 feet.
I still have a pair of THESE deep in the recesses of my warehouse. They were given to me for parts. My guess is they weigh 120lbs. each. Maybe I'll stack em up with my SVT!!

An 18” speaker in and if itself won’t necessarily get you down low just because it’s an 18. The cab design has a lot to do with it. I’ve got an old fridge sized Acoustic 301 folded horn cab that is pretty midrangey sounding and doesn’t get down as low as my Goliath Junior 2x10 does. And the 301 won’t let you feel it if you’re standing close to it. You’ll need to be about 10 feet or more away from it to get the full impact. Which can be a problem of you’re mainly interested in the stage sound (it’s not very loud up close) - and you’re working with FOH. Because it pushes out its more serious volume in the same space the FOH is covering, so that’s not something your sound person will appreciate.
If you’re interested in full range then you’d be better served with a modern full range cab like a Greenboy, Audio Kinesis, or similar. The new cabs are smaller, lighter, and can safely handle the much higher power of today’s bass amps.
