Sounds great. Very deep, thunderous, and growly. Tube preamp section cranked, of course.
If using a pedal, the only one I need is my Behringer V-Tone. It's the same as the Tech-21 VT at a fraction of the cost.

I had for at least the last 10 years. All kinds of amps. Hartke, Fender, GK, Yorkville, Genz Benz and Markbass. I just started using a Zoom B2 for octave effects and amp modeling to get that SWR sound!
I plug straight in as well. I have a Jackson lawsuit bass (JPB-9) into a Mesa M-Pulse 600 with 2 Powerhouse 4x10's. It is quite lovely!
Warwick Corvette w/ Barts wide open into a Mesa Basis M2000 2x12 combo. Tuner plugs into bass before bass plugs into amp. 
I'm seeing a lot of Fender stuff into Ampeg & Genz. If I was more ambitious I'd run a tape & list them in a chart but I'm lazy & I have work to do. But this is encouraging.
I didn't answer myself: Fender P Special Fretless modded / Standard (M) Jazz > Genz 3.0 > Hartke Transporter 410.
I own a few effects but I'm breaking them off: Rocktron X Tuner (slow, huge footprint--not recommended); Martin preamp--these don't really count as effects; MB Compressore (which I haven't been using); Wooly Mammoth clone (haven't applied it yet); Alesis Wedge (not used but I'm hanging on to it if & when I need it). At the moment I'm working with purity, i.e. tuner & the preamp.
Cat uses an Aria 1931 > that little 2x5" Vox combo.

Why not get into SWR then? What was your favorite among the brands you listed & why?
Fender fretless american jazz bass into a Markbass 121p with Markbass NY 1x12 extension cab. - if I do use a pedal it is a Big Muff
Something old, something new. Congratulations. I suppose SansAmp is forgivable if you're keeping your tone true. I guess that's part of the trick--keeping supplements inconspicuous.
