Who'd win in a fight? a thread for us nerds

zacklee! just like a good lil enslaved clone.

Well not exactly. The designs of the two types of fighters were completely different. The TIE fighters were designed purely as support vessels that were deployed, and then recalled, from their star destroyers. The Rebel fighters were designed to be hit and run style fighters that would hyper into an area, destroy a supply convoy, and hyper out again before the empire knew what hit them, completely devoid of support (i.e. frigates, cruisers, etc.)

The Imperial Star Destroyer is bigger...but that makes it a large easy target. It needs Tie Fighter support to stay alive...at least when the shields are down.

How strong is the Destroyers shields?
How strong is the Enterprise shields?

im not completely up on my nerdness.....I forget, do sheilds need to be down to fire weapons from both ships?

I want to say the Star Destroyer could win... but i remember the Rebels seemed to take a few out easily.

The Enterprise has good shields and packs alot of fire power, but those odds will change if either one has to lower shields to fire.

The only reason the rebels took out that Super Star Destroyer is because of the emperor's arrogance to not use the thing tactically. He told the captain to sit there and do nothing. In fact, that's probably the reason the empire was defeated in the first place, stupid moves. Such as believing the Death Star was invincible, and knowing of it's weakness, and using only a handful of TIE fighters to defend it. I have no doubt the Star Destroyer could easily destroy the Enterprise.
