I'd have to say Flea. Some of Claypool's songs are just flat out ridiculously difficult, but he doesn't have the funk Flea has. Also, Blackeyed Blond is my favorite slap riff ever.

Who's the better slapper: Flea or Les Claypool?

Very hard to compare. However, as a straight answer to a straight question, Flea is pretty damn good, but I'm sorry, he ain't on the same planet as Claypool.

Just listen to the "hamburger train", and remember thats on a 6 string fretless. Ever try and slap on a fretless?
I think Flea has the "cleaner" right hand technique of the two. But,you have to consider that their styles aren't even really remotely close. Les incorporates a lot of tapping into his playing style.
I would have to say that Fleas' style is more greasy/funk-oriented. I like them both equally.

When it comes to technicality, I'd have to say Les Claypool. When speaking of a slap line I would desire to listen to or learn I'd have to say Flea. Technically I'd say Claypool is a "better" slapper.
If you deliberately mi-spelled that, you are cool, Otherwise...
