Who's the better slapper: Flea or Les Claypool?

Whilst I agree a direct comparison is nigh on impossible, I can't see how Flea is 'more musical' or has 'more groove'. Claypool has a groove all of his own that most of his peers cannot touch. If you know his work, you know what I mean. If you don't, well go and listen to Spaghetti Western (as one of many examples) and come back and tell me that doesn't groove like a mofo :)

Back in 2001 I met a went to a guitar shop in Ohio to buy my old Ampeg BA210 amp (now sold and gone) anyway the owner of the small shop use to be a session guy in LA before he moved back to Ohio to open the shop. He was better than Les and Flea combined hands down, his name was Bill.

Personally I like Claypool, but that's just because something in what he does appeals to my sense of humor. Sometimes just the sound of his playing makes me laugh.

Other than that, can't really compare the two because they serve different purposes.... anyone who expects Les to fill the same role as Flea in a band is missing the whole point of Primus.
