As I'm working on a bass restoration my wife walks in and informs me that I am a nerd.

Me: Why

Wife: Because you are taking pictures of everything you are doing to that bass!

Me: Yes, other people like to see the progress of the work.

Wife: Yeah, other nerds!

This happens as she is taking a break from playing our daughter's Animal Crossing City Folk on the Wii.
I think she is the bigger nerd!:D

My wife and I share in the "Nerd" accusations all the time. She's a lab scientist, I'm a helicopter mechanic. She reads books on Queens and Kings of ancient times; I play computer games and the bass. She gets excited when something gross is on the Health channel or extreme home makeover is on. I get excited when a new pedal shows up in the mail.

It's a healthy part of marriage to find nerdy quirks about the spouse and to pick on them about it. I kinda like the attention... Means she is paying attention to what I'm doing and cares enough to comment on it. I take it as a playful gesture.

Im the biggest nerd (no glasses yet though)

I was once a pen and paper gamer geek, then went to table top miniatures geekitude, and I've since moved on to MMO gamer nerdiness.

I can quote just about any line from any of the Star Wars movies.

I watch the second DVD (the behind the scenes ones)

I can quote model numbers and specs to a lot of music gear.

Oh and I have no life, no wife, and no band (yet I keep buying gear?)

I win! or is that lose?

Ah, I am home in this thread...

My wife is knitting me a cozy for my iPod so it won't get cold when I go on winter walks and is re-reading "Death in Early America". I play bass and am digitizing my vinyl collection. Right now I am doing my Esquivel & Three Suns records.
The pronouncement of "nerd" is a term of endearment and compliment in our house.
Also, I make my living as a child and adolescent psychotherapist and I deal with any number of oppositional kids. Most of older ones will try and piss me off because they don't want to be there. Many of them will call me a nerd and I will thank them for the compliment. It confuses the hell out of them and throws them off-balance enough that I can often connect with them and get some work done!
I hope I am never called "normal" by anyone, it would crush me! :bawl:

BTW, my wife and I play in a band and are writing a song in praise of the nerd life! :bassist:

Her: Nerd, for dogging her nerd-hubby, whom she married(upping any existing nerdiness several notches)
I have vast experience in nerdiness, so I speak w/full authority here.

Nope...your wife's definitely the bigger nerd. Lots of people make photographic chronicles of their projects. That's not too different than a home improvement or cooking show on TV.
Playing Animal Crossing...well...

I was going to say that everyone in the OP has equal amounts of nerdiness resulting in a 3 way tie. But I think I might be just a bit nerdier for taking the time to analyze it and post this. :help:
