Who's your FAVORITE Bass player?

This is a tough one... I'm going to go with Steve Smith from the Vapors. Criminally underrated bass player, and a big part of why I play the way I do.
My fave, others have already mentioned but nobody has posted a pic:

Geddy is what started it for me, but for the last 2 weeks or so it's been Joe Lester of the Prog Metal band Intronaut.
Can't come up with just one, but these guys top my list:

Tony Levin - Love his work with Peter Gabriel but his entire catalog of work is truly outstanding.
Another guy who doesn't get mentioned too often, but whom I deem pretty top notch when it comes to effectively/innovatively enhancing a pop tune without overplaying is Colin Moulding of XTC. So yeah...he might be my favorite bass player.

Cliff Burton was my first exposure to bass, but Flea was there to define the sound.
But as for a local favorite, I'd have to say my bass teacher, Peter Champagne. Anyone with the patience to put up with my hack bass playing has gotta be a saint.

As the avatar suggests, it was listening to my older brother's Tower of Power LP's in the early 70's that made me love music... and I eventually realized it was the bass player that I was actually drawn to...St. Francis himself....Francis Rocco Prestia!!
