Why All The Hate for Jay Cutler?

I'm a hardcore Bears fan myself, and I despise Cutler, how could you not? That performance last season was a friggin' joke. The dude's never had a winning season with any team, and he passes like 3x more than he hands off, which is the cardinal sin against the Bears IMO.

Cutler is a douche. Prove me wrong Cutler!

Oh, you're going to love Mike Martz as an offensive coordinator.

He is a douche. He's also one of the top 10 QBs in the NFL and better than anyone the Bears have had since McMahon.

They would have sucked last year with Peyton Manning and Drew Brees platooning at QB.

Top 10 in what? Interceptions?

He is certainly not one of the better ones since McMahon. The Bears have had Harbaugh, Miller and Grossman all give them winning seasons and get to the playoffs (even though I can't stand Grossman either). Cutler threw a bunch of interceptions.

I would say that Manning or Brees could have done a better job with one arm.

LOL, yup! That's pretty much what I felt about last season!

Harbaugh, Miller and Grossman all give them winning seasons and get to the playoffs - with WAY better supporting casts.

Cutler had a bad year last year, on a team with possibly the worst OL in the NFL and a bad defense.

...and the Bears might have gone 8-8.

I'd like to see your top 10 list please.

-Mike

He's only got to beat out 22 guys...

JaMarcus Russell, Jake Delhomme, Josh Freeman, Matt Stafford, Mark Sanchez, Brady Quinn, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Marc Bulger, Chad Henne, Alex Smith, David Garrard, Jason Campbell, Kyle Orton, Matt Cassel, Matt Hasselbeck, Eli Manning...

I think Cutler is a better long term prospect than any of those except possibly Stafford.

Just about every one of those guys had a better passer rating than Cutler.

If you really think Cutler is better than Sanchez or Manning, please, pass the dutchie.

I live north of Denver - Cutler came in and acted like a spoiled kid, and he also committed the ongoing sin of not being John Elway.

(Those of you who remember Blazing Saddles, put your hand over your heart and sing "Randolph Scott"...and think "John Elway".)

The new Bronco coach screwed up by alienating Cutler, but he evidently took the same attitude to Chicago. IMO unless Cutler turns up the talent and gets a lot of wins, he'll be out of football soon.

And as a Packers fan, I'm getting popcorn and watching. ;)

Ummm... no.

There were 11 starting quarterback last year with worse passer rating than Cutler.

Jamarcus Russel, Jake Delhomme, Josh Freeman, Matt Stafford, Mark Sanchez, Brady Quinn, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Matt Cassel, Marc Bulger, Matt Hasselbeck, and Chad Henne all had worse QB ratings.

...and several of the guys slightly ahead of him played on teams with MUCH better supporting casts.

OK. You only listed 16. Either way, wouldn't it just be easier to list where Cutler sits in your top 10 than making a list of 22 QB's he is better than?

Of the starting QBs in the NFL last year:

Peyton Manning
Drew Brees
Tom Brady
Philip Rivers
Ben Roethlisberger
Matt Schaub
Aaron Rodgers
Donovan McNabb
Tony Romo
Brett Favre

I'd put Cutler right around 10th in that list, along with: Joe Flacco, Carson Palmer, and Vince Young.

Most of those guys didn't play the whole season.
