I replaced a 4U rack with my MB500 and gained power and output while shedding 45 pounds and 3 cubic feet of stuff. I was able to buy the MB500 for the cash that I gained from selling the old stuff.

My amp(s) chose me to start with. Now that I have an Acoustic Control habit, I choose them. Fortunately, whenever I'm looking for an amp for a specific purpose, one of them turns up at just the right time.
I recently chose my new one, because I heard what it sounded like on a YouTube post. It had a big sound in a small footprint. I wrote to the poster an he answer all of questions. I tested one at GC and bought it on the spot, played live the same night Peavey Max 112 200W

The Demeter is the latest. It kicks butt, sounds great, and weighs in at 10lbs. It replaced an Aguilar db750, at near 60 pounds.

Mesa Prodigy:
I wanted an all tube amp that was smaller and lighter than most of offerings available. It also needed to have enough wattage to cover everything I would normally throw at it. Bonus points for a KT-88 power section. It meets all of those goals.

Gallien Krueger 400RB, 800RB, MB200, MB500:
I wanted "the" GK sound. I've been running their amps for years and I basically love everything about them. The 400RB and 800RB will remain with me forever.

I wanted a tubey sounding head in a small form factor. Short of the Prodigy, it's the best option there is IMO. The GB Streamliner doesn't touch it (I had one of those too)

I wanted something which I could grab and carry in one trip should I play outside of my church. When looking at everything around the same relative price range Carvin had a store twenty minutes away at the time.
Because it is the only amp I could find that I could figure out what the knobs do.....

amp 4 - power and size - Bigger wattage, bigger cab, bigger room use
amp 3 - mojo and vibe factor - vintage, tube, mojo meter very high
amp 2 - power, size, and weight - big wattage, light weight, easy to cart
