Ya ever artist has his/hers influences, but this is just the difference between influece and knock off.

Korn dosn't do anything different that FNM dose, nothing original. They have a simple, dominante rhythem, too much for my taste, with 2 guitarist who can't decide on who plays the lead, their treated like equals . Nothing new or interesting, their songs bore me .

Head and Monkey are over rated like 7-string guitars.

I agree totally. What kind of band treats each member as if he is meaningful? Long live Aerosmith!

Whoever said SOAD dosn't copy FNM is dumb. Listen to SOAD's lead singer, and then listen to The Gentle Art of Making Enemys (Or any FNM song where Patton goes crazy.. ). Please, PLEASE explain to me how SOAD's singer isn't ripping Patton's insane shriel?

Ok Ive seen many a good insult to Fieldy here thus far. Im askin everyone to lay off the insults, since the original topic is "Why do people like that Fieldy dude?"

Lets ease off on the insults and slurs on the man. If you anything productive to say about why you like or dislike him, then dont post. (for those of you that dont know what I mean by that, it means that if you dont like him tell us why in a polite respectful way. In short use tact.

One more flame twards the man without tact or any disrespect will cause this thread to be closed.

I'm not dumb, I'm stupid. He's not "ripping him off", but he is influenced by him. If SOAD guy started singing about why he "deserves a reward." THEN we'd have a rip off. I also wasn't focusing on the singer. People were saying everying about SOAD was a faith no more rip off. I think the instruments are approached totally different than FNM... in most cases.

I'm 43 years old and enjoy lots of music with high snob appeal, ranging from Coltrane to Aphex Twin to Jim O'Rourke. I also happen to like Fieldy as a bassist: his powerful style and tone help distinguish Korn from their other nü-metal contemporaries. I like the first album, anyway.

Cass has asked us not to insult the man, so I'll say nothing about his personality.
