If you're gonna dog me for having a custom 9 then ya better be ready for me to slam you for playing a POS 4 string that you bought from a garage sale. If you don't want to get it back in the face, you better not throw it at me in the first place.
I get a little tired of the ERB'ers around here taking it on the chin (with the exception of John Turner) and sulking away just to help maintain the gentle balance that is TB. Screw that. Any 4 string purist that tries to lecture me is going to get an earfull of illogical nonsense and insults. Why? Cause that's how I roll.
There......there's my 2 cents. And yes......it delivers.
I do it just to piss people off.
Seems to be working out pretty well.
Damn' you and all your strings!
Hey, why did the 4 string cross the road?
Because it was an ancient artifact of a bygone era that was barely literate, and probably alcoholic!
HA!

LOL, but if you insult their bass, you're the bad guy. That's how double standards work.
I've had an instance or two where my bass was insulted, to which I responded that they're not only insulting something that cost me some hard earned money but it's also something that I designed. One of which has sold maybe 10-15 models. Not many people can boast that they play a bass they designed and only a few can boast that other people have ordered it.![]()
I know of nobody that can boast that. Much props to ya!

Can we see some pics of your designed bass? Thats definitely something worth boasting about, that you not only designed your own custom, but that other people liked it enough to drop some dough on it rather than make their own
And just to throw this out....doesnt anyone else find it HARDER to play a ERB? When I bounced from 4 to 6, I almost got discouraged and sold it, I was so frustrated. Picked it up superbly by now, I can play it fingerstyle easier than the 4, even if the 4 is still more natural for slapping.
yeah, despite what a lot of 4 string zealots like to say, erb's are substantially more difficult to play. being that bass is not an olympic sport, however, the difficulty is irrelevant except that it must be overcome to be musical.
