I'm running both a Mac's (20" iMac G5 w/ 2G memory), a little ibook that is 3 years old, and a PC that is 4 years old (Pentium 2.5ghz w/1.5g memory) running Windows XP.
The main thing that bums me out about my PC is all the attention it requires. I have to constantly massage it with updates, religiously run virus/spyware scans and all that, I'm backing up religiously (once a week - all my son's baby pictures are on it), and I feel I never get a chance to use the machine because I'm always working on it. This constant maintenance is annoying. I know how to do all the things I need to do on it... Video card installations, driver downloads, blah blah.... but the point is, I don't want to do it. It's a pain in the butt. I really feel that a computer is a lot like a car. Some people like to work on a car, and some people want to do simple maintenence and just drive the car from point a to b. So when a car breaks down, the person that likes to work on the car is like (cool, this is what I need to do... and eagerly troubleshoots it, finds the problem and solves the problem)... To the person that just wants to drive the car, this is a great big hassle. For computers, knowledge wise, I'm one of the first types, but I'm much happier residing in the second group. My Mac allows me to just be a commuter, while my PC forces me to be a mechanic. That's why I prefer my Mac.![]()
Vista Ultimate RC2.I'll have to give my machine a look-over a bit later, but I'm fairly sure that the sound card drivers are giving the O.S. a bit of a hard time. Which edition of Vista are you currently using?
anyone else read the thread title and thought, im more of a orange man?

Mac Schmac. You just don't know how to properly use a Windows machine![]()
I jest. I am not really a fan of Macs, but I do not throw my computer beliefs on others, use what you may. I will though defend Windows and say that you just need to know how to do things. I honestly spend maybe 10-20 minutes a week, at most, with maintenance, and during most of that I am still multi-tasking and doing my normal stuff.
