Why does this anger me?

JackBruceVI.jpg

Jack Bruce's now infamous Fender Bass VI.
Apparently it never was the same after being painted by The Fool.

Hi.

Hmm, I always thought SGs were flat-top, but I don't really know. Looking at it again, it might be laminate.

Most of them are, but not all IIRC. I think there was a carved top SG model in the 90's also.

This pic shows (to me anyway) that the top is in deed carved.
Thanks Yerf Dog for posting the pic.

Regards
Sam

Edit: As for the concept of cut laminate surfaces itself, it may be as old as turning art items out of wood.

I would hit that with a vengeance if it was a bass! I think it looks awesome, and not in a bad way.

However there is something about it that angers me. It has nothing to do with zoot suits, unless there is some specific band/artist reference that I'm missing. Zoot suits were not originally those tacky bright-colored pimp costumes that frat boys and party bands wear these days. Also, the phrase "daddy-o" was a beatnik thing, nothing at all to do with zoot suits. I just hate it when people write meaningless, ignorant ad copy. The only way I can see this making sense is if it is a Cherry Poppin' Daddies sig instrument.

Anyway, I like how it looks, I'd play it.
