Why Is Internet Outrage So Popular?

I try and stay out of chat wars and thread fights. If I say something people don't like, oh well. If I cross a line and it gets pointed out ... good, I learned something. You'll probably never know what I really think about certain things. That saying "The best and worst thing about the internet is that it gives everyone a voice, is true. A podium for scholars and dullards alike. I have nothing to prove, I have nothing to gain, except maybe a few new friends I'll probably never actually meet in person. You're all good in my book.

Back in the CB craze days you also had a high ratio of dicks to regular people on the air. It is the ability to talk shite without having to back it up that frees up the inner Root Boy Slim in so many people.
Nothin is worse than bragging on the 'Net and then having to eat crow because you can't back it. No pic or it didn't happen is a good start. A poser who talks crap is still a poser - they just got away with talking crap.

It's probably a good idea to try and stay away from chat wars and thread fights. I think I will try to emulate you on this, out of all the time I've wasted on the internet, and all the thread fights witnessed and or been in, rarely have I ever seen anyone say, "Hey, you are right! Thanks for pointing out how wrong I've been!" People probably do learn things from time to time but probably rarely mention it when it happens.
