hmm.... not sure if you want to seal up speakers that large.. would probably cut back the lows on you, and could, in theory, damage the speakers......your very expensive, you really love them speakers.
Porting allows the speaker to move to it's full extension...... the volume of air inside the cabinet changes as the speakers move in and out. Smaller speakers displace smaller air volumes, larger speakers displace more air......makes sense? Ok. That's not the WHOLE story, but it's hopefully enough to serve as a warning.
So, using large diameter speakers can cause issues in sealed, small cabinets. Sometimes. I personally destroyed an EVX18 by trying to see how it would do in a sealed cabinet..... in other words, I wrecked it, my bad. The same driver, in the same box, but WITH a carefully tuned port...is a death monster. Oh, and I think that early SVT 8-10's may have been touched by the "volume of death" fairy at the factory, but maybe not.
