Why Madonna, not Sheila E. Did the Prince tribute.

My impressions of some of the BET Awards Prince tribute performances:

Bilal: Very good job of singing and performing "The Beautiful Ones."

Stevie Wonder and Tori Kelly: Underwhelming - and Stevie's my all-time favorite.

Maxwell: Did an excellent, heartfelt rendition of "Nothing Compares 2 U."

Jennifer Hudson: Her "Purple Rain" was good, but too over-the-top for me.

Janelle Monae: Tore it up with a rousing medley of Prince hits.

Sheila E.: Simply brought the house down!

Overall - I'm happy!
Agreed. Overall a GREAT job and a truly heartfelt tribute. Not a rushed, unimaginative one! Why does Stevie need to be included at every tribute?

Gotta love TB... start with Prince, end up with the Andrews Sisters. Because why? I have no idea.

Anyhow, Prince was a musical genius and by most accounts I've seen a pretty rare human being to boot. He is and will be missed. Is he the sum total of Minnesota's musical thing? Of course not, but I knew he was from Minnesota before I knew Dylan was.
