For Phil Lyott content (edit: just noticed that it's Bev Bevans of the Move/ELO on drums):
More profiteering from Fender. The fantastic Phil Lynott played a bog standard P bass with a bit of shiny tin for a scratchplate...oh and he always played with a pick too.
Considering it’s a very limited production run, that’s probably exactly right.Maybe it's because Fender knows that Thin Lizzy fans are now older and Fender hopes some of them have enough money they'll part with to own something that reminds them of their youth, even if it's just one brand of several brands he played. Yes, I am one of those older fans, but occasionally listening to his recordings is more than enough nostalgia for me. YMMV, etc...
Just curious if anyone here knows why this bass is $12.5k.
Do you know where that is? I need a picture with the man next time I'm in the UK.
Yep, being sold as a collector's piece. Don't break the seal.Phil Lynott is a rock and roll legend - his band Thin Lizzy wrote and recorded the song, "The Boys are Back in Town," which to this day is a staple of Classic Rock radio.
But however one may feel about him and his work, I agree that the bass is overpriced...yet, supply and demand dictate the going rate, like it or not.
It’s in front of Bruxelles on Grafton Street in Dublin.Do you know where that is? I need a picture with the man next time I'm in the UK.
