All in one video. Everything that is wrong with slap bass. This kid is horrible. The only thing even vaguely interesting is the title- Insane kid. Save me from the music this goes with.
I'm going to make a youtube video. Me slapping with the audio off. Insert sound clip of a handfull of bolts in a food processor.Almost half a million views on that video and a 98% Upvote ratio. Outside of Talkbass, the rest of the world goes crazy for slap bass! Slap videos like this get hundreds of thousands of views and lots of positive comments.

You guys, don't poke fun at that kid slapper. He's insane... That's insensitive.
Nobody said you can't grow up.Pipoquinha is a very talented player. I am sure his list of accomplishments at 21 is far greater than most people here.
A couple of years ago I took my daughters to hear an up and coming, who will go unnamed, country artist. His bassist slapped from the get go and did it on every up tempo number. Never have I been so tempted to find the guy after the show and tell him how badly he sounded. Completely out of context. So many bass players just can't resist the urge to show off that they'll throw annoying slap dribble into classic rock, 90s grunge, whatever. I have even heard it in a country band..

Also, you don't need to have ever made a movie to say a movie is bad.
im from india, give the kid a break. How old was he? 8? 10? 12? Where are you from?
I have been to Brazil bunch of times. My son is Brazilian by birth. I know better than most of you peeps here how hard life is out there. To accomplish what he did is nothing south of amazing in an emerging market country where the price to download information (as in internet) is almost 10X the cost of Japan or America. Life is difficult there. Getting information is ridiculously difficult. How he got to be who he is, is nothing short of hard work when information is expensive and downright spotty.
Half of you peeps here have no idea what life is like on other parts of the world. You measure using your yard stick. If he were given the opportunity, he would be better than 99.9999% of us here on talkbass. Most likely he is better than 99.9998% of us by the time I finish writing this sentence.
You are entitled to your opinion but consider his age and what he is today before bashing him.
They are striving for mediocre. Youtube killed slap.
