Whys is Fieldy so disrespected on TB????

i agree with a lot said above, people just love to hate on anyone making it. Maybe he doesn't offer musicianship, but he does contribute to the Korn sound, which has probably inspired MANY more people to pick up instruments than a lot of us ever have. Good for them, and good for Fieldy. As sad as it is to say, the music world isn't completely about music.

Typical response. I'll just say this. Money aint everything, and there are rather a large number of ppl on this board that could give a flying platypus thumb how much he makes. I know cats that DONT want to be famous and make loads of money playing (if you young cats can understand that). Never OPENLY ask for an opinion on music or any art for that matter when you want specific answers. Thats esp. when you love the artist in question. While these so called club guys may not be well known, atleast they wont be well disliked lol.

When you get into technique, Page sucks. He's all about flash and slop. Listen to the "Dazed And Confused" solo, even *I* could play that cleaner than that.

That does not mean he's not an awesome and innovative guitarist or a rock god.

Find another serious guitar player that has the guitar around their knees.

I make more money than you. Does that make me better than you as well?

I think many bassists don't consider him a real bassist. He's a showman. Musicians transcend genres and sub-genres. When Korn's 15 minutes of fame is over, what will be left?

not just the money fame with fame more people listen to your music he could get well not just him the whole band gets there point across there music is great. Oh yeah guy that make more money than me you are a better bassist than me I've only played for two years. I well become better over time usually I like to talk to bassist but they are all the same Jazzheads. I like Jazz but I don't make fun of other styles because they play different.

It might be a good analogy if Page had simply drummed his strings against the fretboard all the time but as it stands, sorry but it's not a good analogy at all. Page played some of the most solid, memorable riffs of all time. His feel may be a little loose but to say his technique sucks is ridiculous and to say that most guitarists feel this way is simply wrong.

Most professional guitar players I know think he was a **** guitar player in terms of technique, but they'll all be the first to admit that he was very creative.

Riff rock isn't a very complicated thing to do.

Show me a solo where Page did it cleanly and I'll eat my hat.

The funny thing is, if he was just a loose player live, because he was so into it, it'd be a slightly different story. However, tales abound about how he was always concentrating so hard whilst playing.

i have almost no idea what you just said its like you didnt use any basic grammatical skills or punctuation or anything its really really annoying and difficult to read periods are your friends use them and maybe i could understand you maybe even take you seriously but im not famous either and i dont have much money so what do i know but fieldy makes a lot of money so he must be good

So there was a time when TB was a smaller community and was "special" in terms of having a core membership of older guys....:)

At that time - it used to get "vandalised" by kidz who were almost always 15 years old and Fieldy Fanz!! :p

Hence the John Turner "smackdown" was born!!
