Will 80' styles ever come back into style?

When I said I wanted to start bass, my little brother was trying to get me to buy a B.C. Rich. I whole-heartedly said no. I wasn't even alive then, so I don't know about the style of instruments, but I know that I can't stand hair bands (Poison, Ratt, Cinderella, GNR, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, take your pick). I can only assume that instruments were designed to fit the hair band movement, and that would mean pointy, ugly, glittery, andjust uncomfortable. Due to this, I will say I hope not. B.C. Riches belong in Black Metal bands, nightmares, and dumpsters, not in my posession. I would sell them instantly. They are garrish, uncomfortable to play, poor quality, and just plain old ugly. Jacksons were better. Still not quite my cup of tea though.
However, the increasing popularity of the genres that would welcome these designs with open arms could play a large factor in it.

I think of the 80's in the explosion of MIJ made guitars for sure like the amount of cars toyota/nissan/honda imported if nothing else.
some styles and colors were not the most mainstream and truly trendy like a lot of things in life, but a comeback?..hell you look on ebay every day and the same units people said were junk all of a sudden the damn things are very expensive almost to the point of what they originally cost or MORE.

Rock music sucks in the 80's, that's for sure but but art was fine... Pop was highlight, even Talk Talk was there...
lord, let's hope not. But then, everything that's old gets to be new again. Happy Day, eh?
