Will Smith just threw a $50m punch

"OK, Will, here's how it'll go. Chris will make his joke about Jada's hair, you storm up there and slap him - make sure to pull it, you don't want to risk hurting him, I know you know how to pull a slap - and cuss a little. Then later that night you apologize.

You've been saying you don't feel like today's audiences are paying attention to you. Just this one little thing will put you right back in the headlines. Trust me, baby, did I ever steer you wrong before? Piece of cake. Chris'll be ready for it, he won't be wearing his contacts tomorrow night."

And it's working exactly as planned. Only thing was he forgot for a second not to laugh at the joke. That momentary hesitation? that was Smith saying - "oh s**t, I forgot the setup!"

I'm astonished that no one sees the fix.

Well, I'm cynical when it comes to celebrities. I don't think they go to the bathroom in the morning without clearing it with the PR machine first. All those feuds, weird behaviors, etc., etc. - all scripted in my opinion. Buncha irrelevant dopes desperately trying to get attention away from each other to keep bringing in the bux. Y'all's innocence is touching.

Since Tik Tok, full-immersion video games, You Tuba, etc.?

They're 53 and 57 years old. Both can see the point clearly in view when their celebrity-ness will become a late-night trivia question or "remember him?" Gotta keep the views up.

Dude stop watching Infowars and whatever other pollution you are feeding on.

I'm cynical as anyone, but thank goodness I'm still capable of rational thought.

Exactly

I think it's important in moderation. Young children cannot be reasoned with the way an adolescent can. My parents practiced it in moderation. Never enough to hurt us, with the exception of our pride.

"Important in moderation"? Hitting children? JFC what is wrong with you? Oh, never mind, you have already said your parents knocked you around. And now you perpetuate the cycle. Great.

Another point in Will's favor is that this whole incident proves how wrong it is to insult people in this kind of joking manner because you never know why something appears the way it does just from surface viewing.

Ignorance is no excuse. He deserved what happened because it's wrong to joke about people like that. There is no excuse for that kind of insulting. Just because a small segment of creeps will find it amusing? Sorry, but that's absurd.

Um, no, you are just wrong, and an indicator of what's wrong with so many in society.

The only thing that Chris Rock suffered was INSULT. At least according to the comedian who said he should sue for an astronomical amount.

But could Will not have stood up, called out CR’s joke as tasteless due to Jada’s condition, and been able to insult/embarrass CR without resorting to assault? I 100% think so.

In today's world, CLEVER wins the day. One has to be extra sharp to be on cutting edge of comebacks, and timely putdowns...Being a word-smith of sorts, Will missed a chance for some good banter back and forth, and then winning the day. He chose to do what lots of those who aren't clever do, snap and look-a-fool. Anyway, yes very odd thread this is...lol

"Violence is the refuge of the incompetent."

Well, she certainly shows thick dark stubble all over her scalp. She may be having some kind of thinning hair, or it won't grow long and thick any more. But a quick look at photos shows no evident bald spots.
Alopecia destroys the hair follicles themselves. But to even broach the question brings on the witch hunt. The sickness of this culture is profound.

Finally! SOMONE had the courage, and bravery, and honesty, and openness to address an issue that is all too often swept under the rug.
Hopefully, this opens the door to MORE Meaningful Dialogues® and Relevant Conversations® about multi-millionaires Lived Experiences® and mistyped thread titles.

And is it really THAT insulting to be compared with Demi Moore??

It's been years since I saw the movie... but as I recall G.I. Jane was a bada$$ woman who saved the day to the complete surprise of all the men who doubted that she could even make it through boot camp.

The joke could have been taken as a compliment instead of an insult IMHO.

You didn't just "broach the question." You stated outright that she was lying. Edit: Without citing any evidence, I should add, other than you saw her on TV and it didn't look right to you. The fact that, what, two people (?) pointed this out doesn't qualify as a "witch hunt." A sick culture, indeed.
