Seriously thinking of making this a set neck. And where did that big ole knot come from?

So I go to the Q-Tuners web site. Pups look pretty cool. Let go to the sound files. Hmmmm....where are the bass tracks.....oh there they are. Why are all the bass tracks recorded with guitarists playing bass. You know that noodley esoteric stuff. I want to hear what it dose for laying down a groove. OK got past that, went to order. I couldn't order them in gold. Sent a request for the gold color. They replied with "not for 3 months" So, this bass will not be equipped with Q-Tuners

So then I go to Amazon. I order some Alumitones. Amazon sez that there are 3 in stock. OK, I have prime, but I pay extra for even faster shipping. Like this Saturday. I get a message from Amazon. Sorry we're all out. Sent Amazon a message asking a number of questions, of which, I get a robot answer. I call to get it straightened out. Black Alumitone pups are on their way. Nickle hardware from Hipshot also ordered.

In the meantime, I glued the FB down and shaped out.

OK, so what you do is make the pup route smaller than the recommend size. Rather than making it @1.55 wide, make it 1.40 wide. Even if the pup is raised you don't see down into the cavity

Just a plain bad day today

Got a notice from Amazon. I have to pay for shipping. I have Amazon Prime, and I don't pay for shipping on this item. Says so right on the page. What the.....? Got another notice from Amazon, the Black Alumitones are out of stock as well. Talked again to Amazon. Why is this so messed up? The guy agreed. He's seen a bit but not this bad.

I canceled the order. Maybe perhaps this bass isn't going to get the Lace Sensors

Went to work on the neck today. Things didn't go well here either. Started to get the FB to a good thickness, but took a little too much off, and lost the racing stripe. After that I was working with my router, and put a little ding into the end of the FB. It can be fixed. But after that I decided to walk away from it for today. My head just wasn't in the right place.

I'll be back tomorrow

Yep!....Some days it's just better to walk away, lick your wounds and come back fighting....

I did the same thing when I used the Alumitones:

Undercut the mounting hole rout and it fits like a charm.

Not my weekend for building.

Wife's puter crashed. I was half expecting this.
Need to spec out a new puter for myself, build it, and recondition my current puter for the wife to use.

Life is getting in the way of my builds!:banghead:
