Awesome! I found myself drawing a double neck after seeing that one too.

If you look past the six string in progress there is a drawing for a double neck I worked up way back when. If I can get some projects finished up I'll build it. The plan was laminated maple necks, limba body and a book matched spalted alder top. One day.

Hey @Beej I've been away from TB for a while so I missed this thread until now, thanks for picking this up and running with it.

even though I missed the deadline the last time I entered (although it is finished, I should go back and update that thread!) I'm in.

I've been working on a plan that is perfect for this, although it does mean finally getting round to driving 300 miles to collect the items to be 'rebirthed' into a bass!

I'm back in the game, I just scored this on fleabay for the sum of £15.49. It's perfect for my project, it's even the right colour for the paint job I have planned, which is the main event really.

In an attempt to lock in this so-called plan, I spent the afternoon creating the template that will make the template that makes the template, or something like that.

Now I'd better start looking for the wood.

I did something similar: APJ-1 set, which local music store had sold for $304 out the door, installed in used RBX170 I picked up for $100:

I call it my "Dug" bass since that is the pickup in the Dug Pinnick Schecter signature bass.

Not crazy at all if the result sounds convincing.

I recently gave a €119 Harley Benton bass a €119 Hipshot D-tuner. Works wonders! It is now the bass I use in my band.

Yeah we are probably both nuts but a $100 toby is somewhat different then a $100 Carvin. Besides I look at it like this.. I paid $100 for the case and the bass was free. I went ahead and started it anyway over here

I was so looking forward to having an attempt in this years BO, but it appears I might not move until Feb/March so there is zero chance. The cache of parts I found stirred up some excitement, but 12mo from now is more realistic.

I'll have fun watching y'all build though.

My "Mothman Rebirth" bass body blank is weighing in at a disappointingly low 38.4lbs. Maybe I should beef up the brass bridge a bit to make up for it?
