It's a 2 Tek. I was stoked to get it. Seller indicated it's an original from the mid 90's. The spacing on it fits the Thunderbucker's just fine

What's the advantage for a bass? It looks like a trem to hardtail adapter.

They are very sturdy bridges, I had a Hamer with one years ago. Weighs a lot, but the strings are anchored well, that's for sure!

Probably won't be radioactive themed but I will include something Rat themed on them. Thinking of making set of 25.5" scale 4 and 5 (E-C) string acoustic parlor basses using the suitcases and guitar necks I have lying around. I might not get to them before the end of the competition because of the two builds I have ahead of them but we'll see.

Yeah the whole thing's machined out of brass; I see the newer ones have a few lightening holes and are advertised as 35% lighter than the 90's model.

I do have a few spare 25.5 scale "alto" bass necks laying around. Might be a good way to clear out a few spare parts. An electric parlor bass with a suitably weird Japanese or Russian body.

This hasn't been set in stone yet, but I was going to try to set a limit on scale length (30 in)

Background: A couple people approached me and asked if they could build a guitar. As this is a Bass Forum, I thought setting the scale length to 30in, or a wing bass would be an easy thing to accommodate and we'd stay true to our low end.

Now this Alto Parlor Japanese Russian mashup comes along (Which I think is a great mashup)

Just trying to figure out how to word the boundaries of the build off so we get people making basses, an not guitars.

Thoughts?

I'd say lowest string must be tuned E1 or lower.
