Thanks. I hope I can too. I get frustrated with build projects because I don't have any time for them anymore. But I always want to keep building, whether I have time or not.
Maybe I just need to accept the fact that a build may take me a year or two now, instead of a couple of months, and just keep trying to build basses, rather than find something simpler to build.
I don't know if I'll be able to build the stratobacker , but I want to.

So I've been working on the design. Here it is, mocked up with some wood textures and a white pearloid pickguard.
That's a birdseye maple fretboard, with a 3-piece maple through-neck with walnut headstock ears and and a walnut backstrap, and an alder and walnut body.
Also 32" scale with 21 frets.

Is there a limit to the number of entries a person can have, I just got another idea for something and realized I had almost everything I needed for it.
I believe the limit is as many as you think you can finish in the allotted time; I'm planning on 2. Several folks (@mapleglo @Scoops ) did 2 last year.
Yes, as @Jon Clegg indicated , you can have multiple entries.
I had 2 entries, but only finished one on time. Probably do the same this year.
Hope I can get two in also. Have everything ready for the start, but will be out of town till the 24th.

Me too! I have all of my wood purchased as well. I splurged on some nice figured cherry. 
I most of the wood purchased for both builds, no fingerboards yet. '

I've wondered about using cherry in a bass, how is it to work with compared to say maple walnut or mahogany?

It’s pretty wonderful. Close-grained like maple, density about like maple, machines about like maple. I love it!
