Winter Build off - Mash Up - Get Ready

Never been good at free hand. Don't mind the sloppy neck joint and bridge. Had an idea and started drawing at lunch.
Really just the control layout and pg idea. I saw an eko bass and loved the pg shape (especially that notch by the pup/f hole). Horns are too pointy in the sketch, going to go with a jazzmaster/toronado/teisco/60's japan body shape, eko/jazzmaster pg, semi-hollow, and firebird neck.
I have the pickups, eymusic tbirds in Ric placements.
Not 100% on controls yet, but I like the idea of switching to another tone with the flick of a switch a la jazzmaster rhythm circuit. Might do active for that, but would prefer no batteries.
I would not be opposed to active if I could accomplish a mid scoop/pass and std treble/bass cut on a rotary switch in one of the roller pot slots. I would definitely have the room for a board in the body. May have to ask around in the diy pedal maker forums to see if I can farm that out.
I have seen someone do a passive mid pass/mid scoop circuit but I may toy with a varitone/amp-esque idea too. Outside of my wiring capabilities though, so I would need to find someone who can.
Round it out with vol, tone and a rotary pup switch like the 60's Japanese style. Probably bridge, parallel, neck, series. I've toyed with doing a tone knob like a modern 4003, with push/pull utilizing a bass cut. I really like the sound you get from a bass vi with the bass cut switch.
Essentially I want to do a semi simple control layout that gives an option for radical tone shaping if desired. I personally have found use for bass cut and cocked wah type tones. It would be fun to do so without needing any pedals.

Off with their Heads! Moonshine Headless Builds incl. Sub Short Scale Travel Basses
one down... four more customer builds to finish up by the end of the year so I will be getting a late start to the festivities. I have decided to put the The Flying Tri Motor V on hold (it will happen, trust me...) but the talk of resonators made me alter my original plans for this build. Still going with the Gibson mashup theme

What about a slotted headstock? It has that old-school, dobro style, and it's still a Gibson design keeping to your theme.

Not to be rude but Dude... I've been building resonator basses for almost 20 years... It will be long scale. As for the cone, the aluminum resonator cone is tuned to whatever it is attached too.
I've mounted pickups above and below resonator cones. There are merits to both
.Honestly building a 4 string resonator is not "easy enough to make" correctly. the aluminum cone brings up a whole different dimension to the equation. Build one yourself and you will see.
I have no interest in building a "Red Special" (been there done that), I am going for a Gibson mashup; 70's Gibson Les Paul Recording Bass body shape, Thunderbird neck through construction, ES-335 bent maple sides, Trini Lopez for the overall design, Mississippi Voodoo for the coverplate with a Dobro 10 1/2" aluminum resonator cone (Gibson owned), An EB-0 and a Ripper pickup and whatever else Gibson crap I can throw on...
Sorry if I come off as a bit grumpy... just coming out out of a bad case food poisoning.
Damn my love/hate relationship with raw oysters...
