Winter NAMM 2017 (ultra Pic-heavy)

Whew, I feel like I just unloaded a Mack truck full of pics and in the Ibanez section something caught my eye. The Thundercat looks like it's going to be available so I showed my wife and asked, can I ?
She got all Meatloaf-y on me and said "I'll do anything for love but......

:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

Yep... $9,333 (I'm assuming retail).

Hall E was a fun place to be. We (Boom Bass Cabinets) were down there along with Trickfish, Eich, LoPhat, Mike Arnopol (MAS/Sonic Farm), Wayne Jones, etc. We spent time hanging out with the crew from Paul Lairat Basses, the small builder vibe was very cool on the "bottom" floor. ELEGEE from the Phillipines had some interesting custom basses, even had a miniature Marcus Miller 4.

Hall E was exceptionally cool that way this year. Your cabs sounded great, but of course you already knew that...

There was a very nice prototype Wilcox EUB with Lightwave electronics over at the Kalium booth on Saturday, would've enjoyed trying that through your rigs Brad.

I thought I was going to be trapped in LA. Flash floods and freeways closed. But right now I'm taking a quick break in Barstow, and then back on tbe road.

Thanks so much for your documentation of NAMM - next best thing to being there!

Speaking of exceptionally cool, it was great meeting you, Charlie :). I stopped by your booth yesterday but you had already left, I got a chance to check your amp out with a couple of nice basses. Sweet. I need to get more info about it.

That was an interesting conversation that we had with another bassist ;) ... there were a couple of those.

I would've loved to run an EUB of acoustic through our Tank 1012.

Likewise Brad. I'll PM you about where things are going with my amp design. It was never really meant as a production ready build, and I really only sent it along to the show as an afterthought when the guys in that booth heard it at their shop and asked if they could use it for the show. I learned so much this year, and it'll definitely take me a while to digest that and decide on a direction to take things.

Everything I heard sounded right. Nice work.

Is that really the estimated ballpark for the Thundercat? Damn :( In that case, I hope Ibanez simply releases a non-signature 6-string Artcore bass.

They had prices listed for every piece at the show and they had a ton of basses and guitars there. The price was listed right by the bass. I don't know how close the street price will be. I would've liked to play it but they had a steady flow of dealers in their display area.

Have they done a five string Artcore? I don't recall seeing one.

Should be able to zoom on this pic...

Someone may correct me, but I don't believe Sire had a booth at NAMM. I was looking out for them and couldn't find them on the app either. I wanted to take a look at an M7 Fretless if they had one.

I don't think Sire was there. They weren't listed, and I kept an eye for them just in case.

It likely won't be long before they release a version with slightly cheaper materials for around $2k (estimated).

They do this with all of their signature models. First they release a version exactly like the artist plays, and then several months later, they release a version with more generic woods, preamps, etc for much less coin.
