Trickfish were pretty cool. It's very difficult at time to resist just hanging out at a booth, talking, and playing bass. This is one of those booths that was making me feel at home.

So this lady was demonstrating the new Trilobite pre-amp, when someone walking by (that she knew) shouted "Only whole notes, lady!". So she started playing a polka, and someone else pointed out that those were half-notes. Lots of good ribbing going on downstairs.

And that's not just any lady, it's Lynne Davis!

This place had no signs. I had to go search for a name.

Sometimes people get nervous when I want to pose their instruments for a picture. This was one of those times. However, after some persistent convincing that I really wanted to take a picture, I was allowed to continue.

So I had a great talk with this guy, Tony Smith. Link Removed

He had a fantastic style. He's also one of those guys that I could sit and listen to talk about music and style all day long. At one point, he's telling me about his "claw" method of playing, and then demonstrates it. It looked somewhat familiar. A lightbulb went off over my head. More on this later.

Remember how I said sometimes people didn't seem to want me to take a picture (because I'm trying to pose my bass)? Well, this booth had what appeared to be a small family: Husband, wife, toddler. They were in the middle of eating. It made me think how difficult this show must be for the Asian based companies. All that jet lag, and then you have to be totally on point as the masses swirl around your booth. Well, this lady stopped eating and got up out of her chair to make sure I was getting good pictures (it was a small booth). I felt like a cad. I'M NOT TRYING TO STOP YOU FROM FEEDING YOUR BABY!
