Ok, a bolt-on 1-piece. What do you think?

Here's another cool booth. Hey, your bass pre-amp up on that huge stack of cabs is too high for me to get a good picture. Can you take it down and hold it for me? No problem fam, I got you! (proceeds to just open a brand new one to show me). Nice.

So Modulus was one of chillest booths yet. They ask why I'm there, and I tell them I want to take a picture of every bass that they have. They go out of their way to help me. Move basses around for me. They even offer to drink Fireball Whiskey with me (because of my t-shirt). I may take them up on that offer if it's still available.

This thread is too quiet. Please let me know what you think about some of this stuff.

There are some beautiful basses, and some really gaudy ones.

Gotta agree with you about the silver Hammersmith. Wow!

It was a trip seeing Sterling Ball. My wife worked for them in the 80s. Haven't talked to him since the company moved from Costa Mesa.

So I take a break from Hall E to go to level 2 to check out Chris Wyse at Ampeg. However, I get there early enough to check out Peavey.

Nothing really new with them or Trace Elliot. I ask one of the engineers if there's any plans to make a beefier ELF. He tells me that almost as soon as they put it out, people were asking for a more powerful version. He says they're still in the talking stage. One of the things he thinks their mulling over is whether or not to keep it simple, or to add a couple of knobs for a compressor or other effect. He also said he thinks they were thinking of a 500 or 800 watt version. All speculation at this point.

Hi wintremute :)

Nothing really new so far, lotsa like Fender but better, or like Fender but cheaper...

(some things will never change :D)

and a whole bunch of boutique :hyper::hyper: stuff

(is there someone who uses wood that can be shipped without a whole pile of CITES paperwork?)

all in all still the best bassporn thread of the year!!! Thank you sooo much

It's still a few minutes before Chris Wyse is set to appear. I ask if I can go on the stage and snap some pics of his stuff. Permission granted!

I know of Chris Wyse mainly from The Cult. I expected him to come out and just rock. I was surprised when he started off with some beautifully melodic tapping. This dude is way more skilled than I realized.

However, later on he does play some Cult! He's also loving that new Liquifier Chorus Pedal.
