Winter NAMM 2019 (ultra Pic-heavy)

Morning Talkbass! I'm at NAMM this year too, although I didn't take too many pictures yesterday.
I did check out the new Strandberg basses that they just released (pic attached). I hated it. Their weird squared off necks made the thing damn near unplayable.
Maybe it works on guitar, but for a bass, it was waaay too chunky. Definitely something you're going to need to try yourself before buying it.

Gibson at 11:30, GR Bass at 3, and probably Stage Clix to start the day.
couldnt find dean or schecter displays. their "booths" were small meeting rooms on the enclosed mezzanine level.
@wintremute did Cort have a display there? They have some new basses using ovangkol wood and Markbass active preamps.

Some absolutely amazing gear in this thread, I love it. These are cool as hell, stick a split P in there and it'd be fantastic. It's like a reverse J !
Have my eye on these. Eric Bass is a great all around musician/ producer. He worked with Prestige for over 2 years on perfecting this machine.
I prefer the look of a split P, but the '51 styles I've tried have always sounded great. I imagine these are great basses. I'm catching up on this thread and I can't stop drooling..
NAMM oh NAMM. I'm knackered today after a NAMM/Disney double header yesterday. I clocked up over 15 miles and 35,000 steps on my health monitor!
I spent several hours at NAMM yesterday and tried several dozen instruments, most of which I put down in less than 5 seconds as the setups were dire on the majority of them. I'm not particularly fussy either. I'm mainly referring to the major and specifically mid-tier manufacturers who seemed to be "mailing it in" this year and downsizing to a token presence at the event. The Thursday and Friday are usually more welcoming rather than the Saturday circus, and NAMM is generally a terrible place to assess an instruments quality but with the dwindling access to before you buy with the death of the local music store, you'd think folks would take every opportunity to showcase their wares in the best possible manner. There's something very wrong when my $200 Danelectro Longhorn is remarkably more playable than your $1000-1500 mid-tier or even $4000 custom shop instrument.
Kudos to the guys at Chowny, Mattison, and (somewhat surprisingly) Fender for making the trip worthwhile.
Highlights of the day: nice chats with Bobby Vega, Janek Gwizdala, Dug Pinnick, Doug Wimbish, Mitch from Soundtoys, and especially guitarist Joe Gore with whom I had a really sincere conversation about life, pedals and his playing. Tweaking his fuzz pedals while he skronked away was pretty special.

Have you had a chance to try out or hear Source Audio's new pedals, the Spectrum envelope filter and the Elevon synth/octave pedal. These pedals actually have the same hardware and can be configured identically via the Neuro app) but have different settings out of the box. (This arrangement is much like how the Aftershock, LA Lady, and Kingmaker are the same and the Mercury, Gemini, and Lunar are the same.) I'd be interested to read your impressions of how the pedals sound on bass.
