Winter NAMM 2019 (ultra Pic-heavy)

If anyone has a moment, can you swing by the Chowny booth #3539 and check out the Retrovibe EVO? There are no dealers anywhere near me. I am looking for opinion on overall quality and feel. Specs on paper look good, but I cant justify dropping almost $600 after shipping on a whim. How is the fret work? What could you compare the feel and quality to? (Is it on par with Squier, Mex, or US Fender?)

Please quote so I can find your response. Thank you.
fret work is great. if comparing to mex or us fender i would say its between the two. edges arent as rolled as us fender but they arent sharp. overall quality and feel is pretty good. reminds me of my korean schecter which i really like.

forgive my ignorance if this has been covered, but when did 2Tek bridges come back? or is this just a one-off with a NOS bridge from decades past?
The one he had was NOS, but they are also back in production. Warmoth sells them. I have an old Hamer 2Tek fretless 5-string. I can tell you without a doubt it works just as described despite the outlandish claims...there is noticeably more resonance, clarity, and sustain.

There's no doubt they work very well. But to me they seem so bulky and I don't care for the looks. Probably would have purchased that bass Devon has as it sounds amazing but I can't get bast that bridge lol.

Morning Talkbass! I'm at NAMM this year too, although I didn't take too many pictures yesterday.

I did check out the new Strandberg basses that they just released (pic attached). I hated it. Their weird squared off necks made the thing damn near unplayable.

Maybe it works on guitar, but for a bass, it was waaay too chunky. Definitely something you're going to need to try yourself before buying it.

Hey @wintremute, where are you going to be haunting today? I wanna get a pic with your carrot :D
